Beadblogger's Group Friday

Hi! It's Beadblogger's Group Friday! I made the "Friday" part up: like it? Not unlike Charlie's Angels, we travel to the heart of stuff and check out what must be shown, revealed and expressed as the most fabulous of the fab, of the upcoming week. That's right, then we just do it! Who do we do it for? For you! Loyal readers and lovers of all things beading! Well, maybe the Charlie's Angels analogy bit is a little off, especially because there are more than three of us in this fun group, but in any case I want to be Drew. She is so cool!

Shown above in three views: my contribution this week for the group: The photos are of teachers' gifts ... I had some school graduations and teachers' gifts to make. One of the things I find hard to do is create gifts for teachers, because the teachers are so special to me. This was fun however, because I had materials left from some earrings which appeared in this most recent issue of Stringing, which is Stringing Magazine Summer 07! I think these ladybugs quite express summer in a cheerful way, and who doesn't like a little accent of red during this season? I hope the two teachers assistants who received these like them!

Question for you reading the photos: which one of these earring pairs looks more formal to you? They are not designed exactly the same. One is more formal in two ways! I want to know if you can figure it out!
On to the rest of our group posts for this Friday!
In Bead Arts,http://www.bead-arts.com/making-blue-bells/ , Cyndi has posted directions for making a crochet and bead necklace, using the popular new ribbon yarn. Light and airy for the summer!

Over in Jewelry and Beading http://www.jewelryandbeading.com/2007/06/18/purple-pearl-bracelet/ , Tammy is mixing it up with pearls (again!--I do love those pearls!), crystals, hematite hearts, and sterling wire for a prom queen bracelet project.
Katie's Beading Blog Katie Hacker is stoked about a fair trade and Jolica, a company that sells beautiful jewelry and pays fair wages to artisans in developing countries. http://katiehacker.blogspot.com/2007/06/fair-trade-rocks.html

And last but not least!

At The Impatient Blogger Read about the auspicious debut of Margot Potter's brand spanking new book that is chock full of fabulous and sparkletastic projects for your bead and bedazzling enjoyment! http://margotpotter.blogspot.com/2007/06/sparkletastic-is-here.html
