My "Geisha" necklace, the focal is a gift from Lisa Kan. It is a lovely polymer bead by Janet Farris.
In the same issue, Kate's calendar is noted. I already have mine, and have pre-ordered her metal clay book. Looking forward to getting that!Hello, Sunday.
Yeah, sometimes we don't open our mail til Sunday--so sue us!
I was delighted to receive my Beadwork Magazine. I love being in Beadwork because it is a great magazine. I especially love the question they ask in the front, which you have to answer cogently (or attempt to) and it sits next to a picture of you forever and ever. Wow!
Having had a dream this morning about POETRY, in which I was arguing with a teacher about a POEM!!!, you can imagine the sturm and drang I put myself through when I get a question I know is going to be immortalized in print.
Anyway, I am very proud of that necklace you see above: I restrung it once. The first time I made it, it wasn't correct. This is not common for me. I usually have an idea in my head, fully formed, which then is created in the manner in which I intended, and that is that. However, in the case of this necklace, I had to redo it.
I am glad that I did..If you decide to take a look at it in Beadwork magazine, I hope you will like it!
Lots of great stuff in Beadwork this issue! Truly!!!
Have a good day!

You must have posted while I was commenting. When I went back to your main page I was disoriented and confused! Hey...what's that geisha?!
Pretty necklace, I look forward to seeing it in Beadwork! I have Kate's calendar! Got it at Bead and Button.
Happy Sunday!
Margot
isn't that lovely!
i wish i had ideas fully formed in my head - unfortunately i just start and it always comes out different than i expected LOL
thanks Margot!
glad you have Kate's calendar--we'll be the calendar girls!
Tracy--how facinating. Your creations are so specifically designerly<--new word!!! and so totally beautiful. I really seriously would have pictured you thinking around in your head the way that I do. wow, how cool! you do it a totally different way! I love that!
My issue came yesterday! When I saw your name, I was, "Wahoo!"
When was the last time YOU went Wahoo? I love that movie . . . 'nother chick flick.
I meant to post a dream for you awhile back; I haven't forgotten, just been rather depressed.
That type of polymer clay pendant isn't usually my style, but in this case, I'd wear it all over the place! I love when someone uses something that I usually feel isn't "me", in a way that changes how I look at it; not that I'm closed-minded, but everyone has their own feel of what draws them in and what doesn't. So thanks for this beautiful, inspirational project.
Plus, I love the detail of the tiny silver bamboo beads; many people seeing you wear the piece won't know it's there, but the wearer will. Or people behind you in line at the store/bank etc, depending on one's collar.
Ohhhh . . . I just imagined this on a semi-dark lightweight turtleneck or mock turtleneck - can you just see it POP? And the silver bamboo would be set off beautifully!
Urk. Must. Resist. Urge. to buy silver bamboo beads . . . . (unless I dream about them, and then, of course, it's fate, teehee!)
I'm gonna go be a good bead blogger and post to my neglected bead blog!
Dear Sarebear:
Thanks! I love what you said--how really, really great!!! of you! Also what you said was really perceptive concerning my thinking when I was designing the necklace. I am not saying that because I am showing off and "teaching" you (duh!), I am saying that because I am so happy and flattered that you took the time to express what you liked about the necklace and that it was what I was working toward when I made it!
Send me your dream if/when you feel like it...and I am sorry you have been depressed. I really hope you feel better soon. It's been a rather tough autumn, I gotta say xoxox!!!
Tomorrow is the big day and I think I might explode. Ahhh!!!
Jenny: let me know what happens! xoxoxox!!!
