"Titania": I like this name. In modern reference, according to Wikipedia:"She has occasional cameo roles in Neil Gaiman's Sandman comic series, and is a major supporting character in The Books of Magic. In the mythology of those comic series, she is a mortal woman, who has lived and ruled in fairy land so long that no one remembers she once looked (and still is, under her magical seeming) human. It is hinted, though never outright stated, that she may have once been the lover of Dream, the protagonist of the Sandman series. It is eventually revealed that she is the mother of Timothy Hunter, the protagonist of the Books of Magic series. The character recently returned in her own graphic novel God Save the Queen."
I am trying to give you an idea of how cool this turned out, but I have a slippery piece of poster paper and it was rolling around a lot!!! These are Aard's awesome beads: my whole collection of this type. I wished to display them on a background of chain maille in the 3 in 3 pattern. I had to use some heavy wire to help these babies stay on, but yes, it is very comfortable, and it looks great on. Very elegant actually. And I made sure I had a box clasp with an extra safety clasp, as you can see. The clasp I actually like a lot: it is hammered sterling. I used 8mm Swarovki bicones below the beads as extra accents to unite them, and an assortment of things ( large green titanium rings-sort of funny because I always struggle wth those but I liked them, here and other rings and such) above the beads including more Swarovskis. It goes like this as you look at it: Bat with Fruitcake, Hedgehog in the Moonlight, and I think...the last one which I love because it sparkes with gold, is called Festive Martini. Aard has more beads up tonight going through tomorrow like these, painted in the remarkable manner she paints them. Here is her ebay url: http://search.ebay.com/_W0QQsassZaardart
She has many great beads on there right now, but these are different: they are glossy because of the manner in which she paints the pictures on glass inside the beads. I like that. Of course I also like all her things.
So there you go. I did it! And I LOVE it. I love these beads!!! and I am proud to add this lovely finished piece to my chain maille gallery in honor of my book, Links.
