New Magazine Cover for April and other things
Here we go! Oh look! I made this fab sun and moon bracelet --all from pewter Green Girl Studios links-- for Simply Beads! They asked me for an article about Green Girl Studios. I enjoyed writing that article ( I found this photo online--thank you Simply Beads, you get the credit for this photo and for the following photo as well!), and we got some nice shots of some of GGS' new vermeil plated pewter beads , too. Greg Ogden and Cynthia Thornton (and of course Andrew Thornton http://andrew-thornton.blogspot.com/ )DO THINGS OTHER PEOPLE DON'T DO in quite the same manner ... AND THEN THEY go and DO THAT DIFFERENTLY. Ho ho ho. They are magical. It's an "Alice in Wonderland meets Beatrix Potter meets your best friend who was a fairy when you were little" kind of a thing, it is. I think they are great! That is why I love them and have adopted them into my family whether they like it or not. By the way, this bracelet has cute earrings, too--see the magazine. Designed, again, by me.

ps: They are all very funny. How this fits into the image I don't know but it helps --they have tons of charm! I love buying beads from them.
Here is the actual cover of Simply Beads Magazinehttp://www.simplybeadsmagazine.com/ this month, with Lisa Kan's http://www.lisakan.com/ fabulous, extraordinarily beautiful Red "Haiku" lampwork bead, and Green Girl Studio's http://greengirlstudios.com/ pewter dragonfly link.
Yes, I designed this necklace, and I love this photo. The magazine did a beautiful job with this cover, balancing all the elements. Lisa is a master at what she does and a total pleasure to work with. She is becoming a dear dear friend. Thank you, Simply Beads Magazine. When I work with dear friends it becomes clearer t me than ever that it is easy to design. So there you have it. Amother piece of the puzle of how I design. I look to friends for inspiration.
ps: you can't "obtain" the phrenite barrel bead on the bottom dangle ... way at the bottom anymore where I got it: therefore you will see if you try to make this necklace that I substituted a Swarovski Morion Crystal cube. Do not be confused by the colr switch. I made this decision because there is a lot of that inscrutable, mysterious and fascinating color of grey/ blue which is Morion found in the "Haiku" bead. If you can locate phrenite or light colored jade at your local bead shop, go for it.
thank you , jean

OH! You're so nice!!! I think designing comes easier when you know who you're going to be designing for and how wonderful they are. I think it's safe to say that the people who buy Green Girl Studios stuff are some of the most awesome people out there. I'm not playing. Our customers are pretty darn cool and we love them for being so incredibly creative and fabulous.
