What-ho! What hey! It's Ornament Thursday!!! See and admire banner above! That is correct! Yes! Every third Thursday of every month...except we do even more right around Christmas, Hanukkah, and Kwanzaa, and those other fabtastic holidays which all fall around and about the month of December each year. Around then, we do EXTRA! Yay! And we love it and hope you do, too!So here is my ornament, and its story. The story of "SPROUT" by Jean Yates.
Once there was a gold filled 3 inch head pin, a vermeil star shaped thing, and another vermeil thingie, with a little loop. They were hanging out together, and this is part one of the story.
Along came a green crystal, round in shape, and said, "Hi! Would you like to be my friend? I will be YOUR friend if you can spell my name [*which is Swarovski] and we can make magic together! This could be fun"!The three other guys consulted for 100 hours. Then they said, "OK".
There was much rejoicing in the land. The green crystal, who had actually expected them to spell out "Crystal" but was thrilled with her new name, was particularly relieved because she had been feeling pretty rejected after St. Patrick's Day was over, and that had been hard for her, although her family had tried to cheer her up by taking her out for pizza and bowling. That had worked for a while, but only temporarily. She was a moody teen. You've all been there, I expect.
Anyway, they all went out on the town and met up with some of Melanie's cool beads, <-- check out her store!!!, some gold filled balls, some more vermeil findings, an OM which their mom jean really dug big time, a heart, which their mom jean totally dug because she loves hearts, and a little lobster claw clasp. This made every single one of the bits and pieces a delightful arrangement of I don't know exactly what, but if you take a pile of pretty stuff and add a lobster claw clasp you have definitely completed your ornament for ORNAMENT THURSDAY! Who wouldn't love to wear this on her zipper of her zippered spring jacket! Now that is what I call really cool! I would put it on a necklace too, as Margothttp://www.margotpotter.com/ suggested. Yep. I sure would! So I say unto you: go make a springy zipper ornament in honor of SPROUT. and go check everyone else's ornaments out as well! Thanks so much, jean

This is a post for the fabulous talented group of which I am honored to be a member: Ornament Thursday!http://www.ornamentthursday.blogspot.com/
Back to the matter at hand! Yes!
Anyway, what we like to do is post our own personal projects on this day of days, ORNAMENT THURSDAY.
And that would be today!
I started planning for this particular version of Ornament Thursday, Sprout, eight million years ago, right after the last one! Right then and there I planned ahead and ordered my special colorful "Springlike, Sprouty beads" which looked to me like Sprout-ish colors and felt to me like Sprouty feelings...I placed my order from Melanie!!! HERE IS HER ADDRESS, AGAIN!http://www.earthenwoodstudio.com/html/bead_store.html of Earthenwood Studio. In particular, she had one I was really psyched about, because it was almost a pea green--well maybe it's a lime green ... and had pea shapes on it. I basically built my order from her around that bead and went from there to the fab yellow flowery beads and the zippy colored brilliant blue beads. Irresistible beads! Great job, Melanie, as always. I received my beads promptly, even though Melanie makes each one by hand. I adore her. She is excellent. Thank you Melanie, for your awesome talent!
All day Tuesday I worked upon my design. Yesterday I reviewed a book !
So...Then, on the BIG DAY, TODAY FINALLY!!! HOORAY!!!!, after much work, on everyone's part, and great excitement within the ranks, we linked up together and now we give you a wonderful show where all of us who participated during the particular month in question show our pieces together, all having to do with the same topic, and we knock your socks off!!! This month is March! This month topic is Sprout! Sprout, a word that just isn't tossed around in common verbal parlance enough! But today it will be and--whoo hoo! We are going to be sprouting up all over! It's Spring, now and we just wanna!!! It's Spring and we just gotta!!! Yay SPROUT!
You will be seeing a list right here, right now! of the other cool people who participated. I personally think everyone did a great job and this is yet another fun example of how people's minds work...so differently, when but a single word is the inspiration. Without waiting any longer, I give you...
SPROUT!

Your story about how all these beads met and joined forced to become this ornament was a delight :) and was brightened up my mood (grumpy but getting better-not a biggie, just a silly complication with a grant proposal, some people really do have a bug up their bum, poor things).
thanks for making me smile -- today has been a rotten day of untold proportion.
dear Jafabrit...and Jenny too: man! some people, huh? we should have gotten together and hung out instead of having annoying things happen. why oh why do we have to deal with that?
