Interesting news from the homefront

Jim has recently lost over forty pounds. I couldn't believe this, last week, when he stepped on the scale.  THEN I couldn't believe  what he ATE over the weekend, which was basically everything in sight!

I said, "I bet you haven't lost that much weight after this"!!! It was a debacle.

So he stepped on the scale. He said "I weigh the same".

I said, "I don't believe it! You're standing half under the bed and you can't even see!"

So I moved the scale over by the door and he got on it again.

He said, "I weigh the same!"

I said, "You're not even standing on it correctly! Look! Your heels are off the scale!"

He changed the way he was standing while I watched carefully.

When he was in the correct position (as far as I could tell) , he said "I weigh the same!"

I said, "Wait, Wait! You have to weigh your hands to get this scale to change the numbers! Look! I will weigh my hands for you--it is a MEMORY SCALE and unless you do that, you weigh the same amount!!!

So I weighed my hands--they weigh 57.7 pounds. (...Who said women never tell their weight !  So there!)

Jim got on the scale. He said, "I lost a pound!"

I gave up and grabbed my camera. My husband has lost a lot of weight and deserves some beauty shots.

The following are Jim's beauty shots and what he was thinking, underneath each picture. He made me put up all three because he couldn't decide which he liked the best.

Here we go:

In this one, he is thinking, "I don't know if I should go to the post office first because then, after, I would have to drive back the same way."

In this one, picture number two, he is thinking, "I'll go down to the post office because then I can go to the A&P and pick up food."

Finally, in photo number three of this collection of beauty shots, he is thinking, "I don't know what the heck I am going to do! I'll figure it out when I get on the road! Me and Jimi are out to hit the crosstown traffic!"

In case you are wondering who Jimi is, Jimi is the button from Fusionbeads which I sewed on  Jim's favorite shirt this morning. As I am not a terribly nice person,  I have no idea what possessed me. It made him deliriously happy however.

Here is Jimi, on Jim's shirt, covering a permanent ink stain from a Sharpie Pen which Jim had in his pocket at one time, on his favorite shirt:

OOOOOOOOOO!!!

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!

oh, THEN  something completely unsurprising happened. Jim took a few phone calls. Then he called to me from the kitchen , "SWEETIE, BRING THE CAMERA!!!!"

He said, "Look! Look!",  but the Blue Jay he was looking at at the kitchen feeder flew away. He said, 'Wait, and come around to the living room! The Blue Jay will be there!" It was reminiscent of that guy who is a nature expert on the Animal Planet TV channel. How do people know things like that?

Then he said in a hushed voice, "See, I was RIGHT!"

I said, "We can take a photo for Emma (see her great website here) in Great Britain--she loves American Blue Jays and it is almost her BIRTHDAY!"

It is hard taking bird pics through the window  but Jim got a good one for Emma--Happy Birthday, Emma and God Save the Queen on her Diamond Jubilee!

Then Jim just took a pretty picture of our front yard.

Not easy through double thick plexiglass we need for the boys! He did a good job.

Now he is gone, my skinny husband. I do hope many women do not throw themselves at him
BECAUSE HE IS MINE, ALL MINE! Oops I have to go, he is calling on the phone.

He begged me for it -- he found it from when I used to be hooked on making spiral bracelets using fusionbeads' instructions and buttons as clasps. The buttons we always the best part of my handiwork as a seedbeader! LOL Lisa! xox jean

Dear Spider Monkey:
YOU are absolutely my favourite Spider Monkey in the whole wide world!!!
Today I am working on kareoke (sp?)to learn the song Venus in Blue Jeans in honour of the eclipse we are going to have here.I believe Ian will be willing to help me with this, and I think I hear him rousing from his slumbers -- going to check his room and force him to listen to another song he will hate!!! :)

What a wonderful story Jean. But what kind of scale requires you to weigh extraneous body parts, ie- hands and feet? Why can't you just stand on the scale with your hands and feet attached?
My spouse goes everywhere with me, she thinks I'm some kind of chick magnet and wants to be sure I don't talk to anyone. Yeah, I'm whipped, but my old lady is one in a million, no, trillion.
She is type 2 diabetic and weight is a problem for her. Me, I eat like a King. It is just not fair.

Loosing 40 pounds is quite the accomplishment. I can only wish that my hubby would do the same though most of his calories come from cream and sugar in his coffee. If I tried to take those away there would be a war and a possible divorce so I guess that I will have to put up with the extra pounds.

Yeah, you can never do it for somebody else. They just have wait for when the time is right for them! I completely understand this! xoxox
